Co-Chair Sezai Temelli and a party delegation went to Iraqi Kurdistan to meet with KRG officials and the representatives from political parties, institutions and NGOs:
Our delegation consisting of co-chair Sezai Temelli, Democratic Society Congress (DTK) co-chair and our Ağrı MP Berdan Öztürk, Group Deputy Chair Fatma Kurtulan, Central Executive Member Nazmi Gür, co-spokesperson for Foreign Relations Commission Feleknas Uca, Amed MP Imam Taşçıer went to Erbil. The delegation received by Erbil Governor Nawzad Hadi at the Erbil International Airport. During their visit our delegation met with political leaders and different factions in Iraqi Kurdistan.
Headed by our co-chair Sezai Temelli, our delegation held a meeting with Mr. Massoud Barzani on the first day of their Iraqi Kurdistan visit. The parties exchanged views on various matters including regional issues and the unity of Kurds.
On the second day, our co-chair Sezai Temelli and the accompanying delegation met with the President of the Kurdistan Region Mr. Nêçîrvan Barzanî.
Later that day our delagation met with Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG)Mr Masrour Barzani. In the meeting issues such as peace and security in the region were discussed. Co-chair Temelli congratulated Barzani for his new role as the Kurdistan Region prime minister, and said that he hoped the KRG [would] play its part in securing peace in the region. “The achievements of the Kurdistan Region must be protected,” he added.
Prime Minister Barzani expressed his support for the efforts aimed at ensuring peace, stability, and security in the region. “A strong democratic process and peaceful talks are the best way to resolve any matter,” Prime Minister Barzani noted.
Our delegation also held a meeting with the Speaker Kurdistan Parliament and the secretary & heads of blocks in the parliament.
On the third day of their visit, our delegation and co-chair Sezai Temelli were recieved by the President of Iraq Mr. Behrem Salih in Sulaymaniyah.
On the last day of their visit, our delegation held a meeting with the officials of Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK).
