Even Photographs of Our Co-Leaders Strike Fear into the Government

Yesterday media have reported that police placed a blockade on the Istanbul Provincial Headquarters of Birleşik Devrimci Parti/United Revolutionary Party because of a banner stating "We Will Win -No Matter What" featuring images of our Co-Leaders Selahattin Demirtaş and Figen Yüksekdağ, and proceeded to break in to the building to take down the banner.

The degree to which the AKP government has lost control has once again been revealed very clearly by this incident. The fact that photographic images of the Co-Leaders of the 3rd largest political party in parliament can be used as grounds to forcibly enter the headquarters of another political party displays the comical aspect of the tragic situation Turkey is being dragged into.

The AKP government itself is very well aware that nothing resembling the rule of law remains in Turkey, and this recent act shows that they seek to criminalize, with no judicial process whatsoever, our Co-Leaders who were arrested as the result of a process woven with unlawful acts from beginning to end.

We condemn this act by the government and the security forces in the strongest possible terms.
