As is known, our Co-chairs Selahattin Demirtaş, Figen Yüksekdağ and our MPs who were arrested unlawfully and have been held hostage in prison for nearly a year, have applied to the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) regarding their continuing detention.
Upon this application, the ECHR accepted the intervention requests to the ongoing case by the Council of Europe Commissioner for Human Rights Nils Muiznieks, Human Rights Watch (HRW) and ARTICLE 19, a non-governmental organization, as third parties.
A further request to become an intervening third party, filed by the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU), the union of parliamentarians at the UN, has reached the court (and is waiting to be processed).
