HDP Law Commission today (5 December 2016) made an application to the Constitutional Court on behalf of the HDP legal entity.

The application states that assaults, detention and arrests targeting party buildings, administrators and members that began before 7 June 2015 and have continued to this day, and most recently, the arrest, and thus taking hostage of our Co-Leaders and Members of Parliament, aim, if not officially then effectively, to close down the HDP, and render it incapable of all manners of political action.

The application further states that these acts constitute a violation of the right to organize and freedom of expression, which are basic and universal human rights, and requests the Court to take necessary action.
