“Social Convergence” Party reject repression against HDP

The party “Social Convergence” want to express its absolute rejection to the repressive scalation that the turkish government, headed by it's president, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, has deployed against the Kurdish people in general, and the members of the HDP in particular during these last days.

The destitution of the mayors of the cities of Amed, Van and Mardin, democratically elected with solid and majority support from the citizenship, it’s part of a global strategy of the Turkish State in it's effort to annihilate the party.

We salute the bravery of the kurdish and turkish people, that is now on the streets defending democracy against the authoritarianism of the government of Erdogan, fighting a strong repression by the security apparatus of the State.

The HDP has suffered countless attacks during last’s years, regretting that around 6 thousand of it’s members, including MP’s, mayors and grassroots militants are in jail, in a systematic attack by the Islamist administration of the state against Turkish democracy.

Our organization, as part of it’s internationalist compromise, declare it’s full support and solidarity with the HDP, and with the struggle of the Turkish and Kurdish workers for it’s freedom and self-determination.
