We stand together with the Greek People and their government in their struggle for justice, equality, and democracy against austerity. Their struggle shows us that another Europe is possible.

Having imposed austerity measures on Greece in 2010 and 2012, the EC-ECB-IMF still continue those policies that lead to a dead–end. Without considering the democratic will of the Greek people they maintain a relentlessly negative attitude towards the proposals of the Greek Government.

It is known that the process of negotiations with Greece has social and political impacts as well as economical ones. We believe that instead of imposing austerity measures on peoples of Europe, more reasonable agreements can be reached. We hope that the negotiating parties will respond positively to the Greek Government’s efforts in order to reach a workable compromise.

As a result of the deadlock in the negotiations, the Greek Government proposed a referendum on whether the country should accept the terms of the bailout plan that was submitted by the EC-ECB-IMF to the Eurogroup on June 25, 2015. The Greek Parliament approved, with the majority of votes, the government’s Referendum on Creditors proposal on July 5, 2015.

In this difficult time, we reaffirm our solidarity with the Greek people and their government. We express our solidarity with the Greek people, the Greek Government and with Syriza in favour of a Europe of sovereign nations, united in solidarity. Hereby we once again express our belief that an egalitarian, just, and libertarian world is closer than ever.

The people united will never be defeated!

With Solidarity
