We urge the Government to abandon its war policies

We have lost 18 of our people after the explosion in Şemdinli, a district of Hakkari. We are deeply saddened by the casualties.

We would like to express our condolences for the deceased and wish a fast recovery to the wounded, and our deepest sympathy for the families. The ever-mounting conflict and war environment creates new pains every day. The government supporting war policies and increasing tension and polarization against every call for peace, is directly responsible for this painful outcome.

Our party is against all kinds of violence no matter from whom or where it stems from. Peoples' Democratic Party does not and will not compromise from this principal stance.

The only way out of this pain and destruction of war is to establish a lasting peace.

Once again we would like to emphasize that we are ready to take responsibility on our part for peace and resolution.

The people of this country do not deserve suffering. For a lasting peace everyone must do their part, and the necessary steps should be taken to solve our problems through dialogue and negotiation.
